It was evident from my first conversation with Sally that she has a love for the breed. She answered any and all of my questions and set regular updates and pictures of our growing puppy. We received a healthy, happy, well-socialized puppy and could not be happier. We highly recommend Bluebonnet Miniature American Shepherds to those looking for an addition to your family.
I have been lucky enough to receive two incredible puppies from Blue Bonnet. Penny was born in September 2020 and is a beautiful red tri. Her confirmation is spectacular, but her sweet temperament is what everyone who meets her notices first. She really is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. She is smart as a whip and so eager to please. Blue (or Blue 2 since her father is also named Blue), is Penny’s half-sister and is a black tri born in April 2021. Blue still exhibits a bit more puppy mischief because of her age but she is just as sweet and willing as her sister. She’s finished up all her puppy kindergarten classes and was always the puppy the instructor brought out to demo new things because she is so smart and picks everything up immediately. Plus, she made everyone laugh with her almost constant whole-body wiggles and tail wags.
Sally has been a pleasure to work with from my first inquiry through today. She is absolutely devoted to her dogs and puppies and providing her puppies with the best start in life. This shows in all her dogs how healthy, happy, and well-adjusted they are.
Absolutely the best place to get your new member of the family. From an easy reservation system, the pregnancy updates and the pictures/videos of your growing puppy, made it feel like we have known our little puppy since the day she was born. Not to mention the puppies’ human parents Sally and Tony. We have never seen a couple so invested in their puppies. They treat each puppy like a member of their family and this leads to a wonderful temperament and a great companion that is loving and fits right into your family. We can’t wait to get our little Belle a playmate!!!
Our experience with Bluebonnet was excellent from the first phone call. After that, we headed out to the home of Sally and Tony Gray! They are great people. Very friendly. Very interested that we become acquainted with the pups as well as older dogs to be certain that we really want this breed. We spent a while visiting with them and the pups. We wanted two dogs, a brother, and a sister from the same litter because we were accustomed to that combination!

We took home a black, white, and tan male we call Wolfie and a white and tan female with blue eyes we call Mina! This breed has a lot of energy! Much more than we expected! However, they are loving and really smart dogs!! Having had dogs all my life Sally sent me home with the most complete medical records I have ever seen. Great detail! The pups had been very well cared for!
Our Vet was thrilled! They are now a
20 months old. They are loving dogs who train easily. We have a big backyard so they keep themselves busy running and chasing each other. We do consider them as house dogs as they spend most of their time in the house! Wonderful dogs!
I first came across Blue Bonnet after the loss of my heart dog in January 2020. I’d vowed not to get another dog but was so lonely and heartbroken that I started looking. I found the most gorgeous litter of puppies at Blue Bonnet. I’d never had this breed but their beauty captivated me. I reached out to Sally who was so wonderful to work with, and we got Luna in March 2020. She has been the most wonderful surprise of my life. She healed my broken heart, kept me in good company through the pandemic, and brought so much joy and love to all she meets. She is the smartest, sweetest, most loyal puppy I’ve ever had. She has so much personality and keeps us laughing daily. She is also an exceptionally perceptive dog—as a puppy, she rescued her sister Maggie who had slipped on the rocks and gone into the river. Luna recognized her distress and pulled her out of the water by her leash!! Luna is also a trusted friend to all new puppies who attend daycare. They put her with the puppies to help them feel safe as she is lovingly attuned to them. The facility also uses her to screen dogs during meet and greets to ensure the dogs are friendly. I can’t say enough about Luna or Blue Bonnet. I consider Sally a wonderful friend and confidante who loves dogs as much as me, and she’s been very helpful in taking the time to help me understand how special this breed is. Naturally, we had to get another one!! We got her sister Lace in September of the same year! Lace has been a wonderful addition to our pack. She is athletically gifted, silly, and as loving as Luna. She keeps us on our toes with her energy and intelligence. Both of these girls have excelled in training classes and earned their good citizen canine certificates. We are head over heels for these girls and are hoping to get another one at the end of this year. These dogs are sooooo very special, and Blue Bonnet gets the credit❤️.

My veterinarian recommended this breed to me, remarking that they are very smart, good-natured, and a good size to fit into my lifestyle. I want to return to obedience work. Bluebonnet brought a litter in to have checkups and shots. A litter to be proud of.
My male is a gorgeous black tricolor named Sully, or “Bluebonnets Pocket Pisco Perfection.” We stay in touch with the Grays and feel very fortunate to have discovered them.
Our experience with Bluebonnet has been such a blessing! We couldn’t imagine life without our baby girl Kami. She is sweet, loving, and beautiful and she knows it! Her personality gets bigger every day. She is quite the ham and has us laughing with her cute antics! and that wiggle butt is adorable! Our experience with Bluebonnet has been very positive. Lua, a 7-month-old Mini Aussie, has quickly become the joy of our lives! She, along with our standard Aussie, Skye, fills our empty nest with so much love and joy. We can’t thank Sally and Tony enough for the special work they do in breeding such sweet fur babies!! ❤️❤️❤️
I had a wonderful experience with Bluebonnet! They’re very professional about making sure the dogs are very well taken care of. Hank is the sweetest, goofiest little guy. He really is a special dog.
I loved working with Bluebonnet especially because they focus on the disposition of their pups. My dog, Henry is the sweetest and most caring puppy who is pretty calm for his breed. I also had the chance to visit the facilities and they were amazing. Many acres for pups to run around and interact with their parents 💗 would always recommend blue Bonnet! Not to mention everyone asks where I got my stunning dog.
